113 youth entrepreneurship brands cultivated in Xiangxi

At present, bamboo shoots are popping up at the bamboo planting base in Shuishaping Village, Maoping Township, Longshan County.

Last year, Peng Jianbo and Pan Ting, a couple born in the 1990s, stood out in the Xiangxi Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition with their bamboo shoot planting project. They received project support funds and got support from entrepreneurial mentors and agricultural technology experts. This winter, bamboo shoots are produced earlier due to rice husk insulation.
 

In order to encourage young people to return to their hometowns for innovation and entrepreneurship, Xiangxi Prefecture has taken multiple measures in terms of financial support, talent cultivation, and platform construction, attracting more than 200 outstanding young people to start businesses in Xiangxi.
 
In order to overcome financing difficulties, small platforms, and limited resources for young entrepreneurs in the early stages of entrepreneurship, Xiangxi Prefecture has developed an exclusive financial support product with Agricultural Bank of China. A collective credit of 500 million yuan is provided for young entrepreneurs. Special support funds of 5.95 million yuan have been applied for excellent young entrepreneurial projects. More than 10 million yuan of subsidies in rent reduction, water and electricity subsidies, and incubation services are offered for young entrepreneurial enterprises.
 
 
In order to cultivate talents, 13 entrepreneurship incubation bases have been built in Xiangxi Prefecture. The “youth entrepreneurship plan” has been implemented, including financial support for youth entrepreneurship products, mentorship incubation entrepreneurship projects, and youth innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.

Wan Zhiyun, general manager of Hunan Jixing Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., said that at the beginning of its entrepreneurship, the company encountered many technical problems and received guidance from the “Youth Growth Mentors”. The company has become a high-tech enterprise in Hunan Province and its kiwi fruit was rated as a leading agricultural variety in Hunan Province in 2024.

In order to attract more college students to start businesses in Xiangxi, Xiangxi Prefecture has built youth talent liaison stations in first tier cities such as Beijing and Shenzhen, established the “Green Eagle Station” for college students in such universities as Central South University and Hunan University, providing information consulting, project matchmaking and other services.
 

Besides, it has also conducted more than 500 specialized training sessions on e-commerce live streaming talents, practical technology training in the agricultural industry, and modern enterprise management capabilities, and cultivated 113 youth entrepreneurship brands.
